ANXIETY
I have this coward living inside of me
This cowards been named by society..
as anxiety.
It won't let me sleep, I get no peace, I hardly eat.
I don't know how to grieve or how things use to be
The future is all you can see when you have anxiety
It knows it has me beat just by letting my breathe
Even when I think I've won, it shows me its just begun
It can dim the brightest sun, and ruin the most fun
I try to shut it off and I think its gone
but when the hell is in your head, there's no where to run.
So you learn to adjust to your crutch with fake smiles
but that only leaves you walking for a little while
It's like as you get strong it gets more vile
And soon its your whole life style
"Make no eye contact for they see right through"
"You have every reason to trust them but come on, do you?"
"Don't even try you'll fail if you do!"
"Why cant you just get over stuff too!"
"Cant tell him how you really feel, honestly its not big deal"
"Piss him off just for thrills! You can't play with your kids right now your ill!"
It clouds my mind until I can no longer think
It holds my tongue and wont let me speak
I have no choice but to fall to my knees
and beg my God to set me free
They say I need to take this or that or I need to talk to someone
but all I need is peace so my thoughts wont run
I need people to understand I'm not being rude
And don't judge me until its happened to you!
This coward living inside of me that society conveniently calls anxiety
I call it the chains on my spirits society won't set free..
But you can go ahead and call it anxiety.
